
Saturday, at around 8:30 p.m., police were called to King Street in Herkimer, where they found that a 59-year-old man had just been in a physical altercation where he had been stabbed twice.
During the investigation, police learned that a 16-year-old woman had used a box cutter to stab the man in the neck and the upper back. She was found and arrested without incident and is being charged with Second Degree Assault, and Fourth Degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
The man was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for his injuries.
The woman was arraigned and released on her own recognizance, and is scheduled to appear at a later date.
