22nd congressional election race may continue into new year

Judge Scott DelConte of the State Supreme Court began ruling on over 2,000 challenged ballots Monday afternoon. He was scheduled to start at 9 a.m. but was pushed back due to affidavit ballots still being canvassed. The ruling is expected to continue Tuesday at 8:30.

Republican candidate Claudia Tenney unofficially leads by 19 votes after counties corrected their vote totals. 20 Oswego county votes were ruled on but it is unclear how many of those votes counted, and of the ones that did, who they went to.

Even after DelConte rules on the challenged ballots however, the race may still continue. DelConte himself stated that he expects the race to continue early into the new year if one campaign appeals the decision.
