Brothers facing felony charge after Troopers find 471 pounds of marijuana during traffic stop

On August 20, 2020, State Police in Mayfield arrested 27-year-old Tevin L. Terrance and 25-year-old Tyren A. Terrance, both of Akwesasne, NY, for Criminal Possession of Marihuana 1st degree, a class C felony. At approximately 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, State Police stopped two vehicles traveling on State Route 30 in Mayfield after the operators were observed committing numerous traffic violations. While interviewing the drivers, Troopers could smell the odor of marihuana coming from the interior of each vehicle. A search of both vehicles was conducted and both were revealed to contain multiple hockey bags full of marihuana. The total weight of the marihuana between the two vehicles was approximately 471 pounds. Both men were taken into custody and transported to SP Mayfield for processing. They were each issued an appearance ticket for Mayfield Town Court on September 15, 2020 at 3:00 p.m.
