
State Police in Oneida arrested Michael Sarbocca, age 43 from Cicero, NY for the following:
Criminal Mischief 2nd degree – class “D” felony
Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree – class ”D” felony
Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree – class “A” misdemeanor
Criminal Mischief 4th degree - class “A” misdemeanor
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree - class “A” misdemeanor
Resisting Arrest - class “A” misdemeanor
Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a motor vehicle 3rd degree - class “A” misdemeanor
DWAI – Drugs – an unclassified misdemeanor
On October 3, 2021, at 10:52 p.m., Troopers attempted to stop a Toyota pickup truck for inadequate tail lamps at the intersection of Main Street and Madison Street in the city of Oneida. The operator, later identified as Michael Sarbocca refused to stop and continued down recklessly down several city streets and entered the Glenwood plaza shopping center in Oneida. The driver then struck a dumpster and in an attempt to escape, intentionally struck a marked State Police patrol car. The operator continued across a field and then struck the front porch of an abandoned house on Glenwood Avenue. Sarbocca then fled on foot and was quickly taken into custody.
During the investigation, Troopers were advised that the pick-up Sarbocca was driving was reported stolen in the town of DeWitt. Sarbocca was transported to the Madison County Jail to be held on the charges above and for parole violation.
State Police were assisted by the Oneida City Police Department.
