Deansboro Man Arrested After Locking Family Out of Home



According to Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Deansboro man was charged with felony Criminal Contempt following a domestic dispute.

As investigated and reported by Deputy B. Warcup, David Ostrander of Rt 12b, Deansboro, was charged with violating a ‘refrain from’ order of protection at his residence.

On 1/10/22 deputies responded to reports of a physical dispute between Ostarnder and his live-in girlfriend who he had locked out of the house with their six juvenile children ages 2-14 after the dispute.

When Deputies arrived Ostrander opened the door and was taken into custody. Ostrander was taken to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building where he was processed and charged with Criminal Contempt 1st degree, a felony, 6 counts of Endangering a child, all misdemeanors, and two counts of Harassment.


UPDATE:

David Ostrander was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP) Court on 1/10/2022. Ostrander was committed to the custody of the Oneida County Correctional Facility with a bail set at $5,000 (Cash) or $20,000 (Bond), to appear in Marshall Town Court on an upcoming date for the charges of Criminal Contempt 1st, Harassment 2nd (2 Counts), and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (6 Counts).
