On January 20, 2022 officers with the Utica Police Warrants Unit, the Oneida County Sherriff Warrants Unit, and the New York/New Jersey Regional Marshall’s Task Force in conjunction with the Mohawk Valley Crime Analysis Center, arrested an individual who was wanted for a homicide in Sarasota County, Fl.

Recently information was received that Nyquan Priester age 20 of Bradenton, Fl. was in the city of Utica after having fled Florida following the homicide. An investigation was then undertaken and a location where the party was staying was developed. On January 20th, as Priester exited the residence on Faxton St, the team took him into custody without incident.
He was then transported to the Utica Police Department and ultimately the Oneida County Jail where extradition proceedings will be initiated.
