According to local media, a house fire Monday evening left a home on the 900 block of Jefferson Ave. uninhabitable due to smoke and fire damage. In an interview with WKTV, Utica Fire Chief, Scott Ingersoll said that the fire started on the first floor and spread quickly, making it's way to the second.
Ingersoll also said that two people were injured, and were treated on the scene. They refused to be taken to the hospital. Five people are being assisted by the Red Cross in relation to the fire.
Details such as how the fire started are currently unknown.
