Local Vet Inducted Into Senate Veterans Hall-Of-Fame

At a Sunday afternoon ceremony, the Whitestown Legion, Post 1113, honored John 'Jack' Hensel, who was drafted into the U.S. Navy just one day before receiving his high school diploma. He bravely served our country in World War II and was injured on the U.S.S. Franklin, later receiving the Purple Heart. Jack was inducted into the NYS Senate Veterans' Hall of Fame on a nomination by NYS Senator Joseph A. Griffo. Thank you for your service, Mr. Hensel!
