Macy’s Robbery Leads To Arrest
On February 1, 2020 at approximately 4:00 pm, the New Hartford Police responded to Macy’s Department Store for a larceny suspect fleeing on foot. The police were able to locate the female suspect on foot in a nearby residential neighborhood. After speaking with Macy’s Lost Prevention, the police learned that a female had bitten the Loss prevention officer’s arm and punched him in the face, and neck multiple times in attempt to flee with the stolen merchandise. The stolen merchandise consisted of four articles of men’s clothing, valued at $269.00.
The female suspect, Sara A. VanDusen, age 42 of Utica, was charged with 1 count of Robbery 3rd , which is a Class D Felony along with 1 count of Harassment 2nd a violation .
VanDusen was arraigned in Oneida County Central Arraignment Court and released on her own recognizance. She is due back in Court at a later date.
