Man already facing charges assaults corrections officer in jail
According to local media, a 25 year old man, Derrick Snell, linked to a stabbing incident in July is facing new charges after allegedly assaulting a corrections officer.
Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol says that during a search of the inmate's cell, Snell became disruptive, and the officer called for assistance from another officer. The other officer attempted to secure the inmate, and Snell began to fight the officers, one of whom sustained a fractured leg.
The injured officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and Snell is being charged with assault in the second degree.
