Memorial Day Parade held by Mohawk Fire Department sparks a sense of community

Yesterday afternoon, a parade honoring the ones who gave their lives for our country was held in the Village of Mohawk by the Mohawk Fire Department. Members of the department drove around the area's neighborhoods while many residents stood on their front lawns, watching, and waving flags.

A member of the Mohawk Fire auxiliary, Sue Harrod, says the village always finds new ways to bring the community together. She also says that nobody asked the members of the department to hold the parade, and that this is just what they do.
