According to Sheriff Robert Maciol on August 22, 2020, at around 7PM members of the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Road Patrol responded to Route 365 in the area of South James Street, in the City of Rome, for a reported personal injury motor vehicle accident. It was found that Ed Austrie, age 32, of Utica NY, was operating his 2008 Harley Davidson Motorcycle with Brittney Kistner, age 20, of Utica NY, riding as a passenger, westbound when they encountered uneven pavement in the roadway.
