Many states have legalized possession of marijuana, but cap the legal amount to around 2 ounces. A new bill sponsored by Senator Liz Krueger, and Assemblywoman Crystal Peoples-Stokes would allow possession of up to 3 ounces of marijuana for people 21 years of age or older.
Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo however offers a proposal that would only allow dispensaries to sell one ounce a day per customer.
