State Police in Lee arrested Patrick M. Morrissey, age 36, of Rome, NY for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree (E- Felony) and Identity Theft 2nd degree (E-Felony).
On October 7, 2020, The complainant reported to the State Police that their debit card was missing and the last time it was known to be in their possession was at the Dollar Tree in the City of Rome on October 1st. The victim reported the missing card to her bank and was informed that on October 1, 2020, a total of $1608.20 was taken from their account through various purchases made at locations in the City of Rome within an (8) hour period. Video footage and transaction receipts were gathered from these various establishments and Morrissey became the prime suspect of interest.
On October 8, 2020, Morrissey was taken into custody in the City of Rome and arrested. He was issued appearance tickets returnable to the City of Rome Court on November 17, 2020, at 9:00 a.m.
