State Police arrest former police chief of Hoosick Falls PD

Hoosick Falls, New York – On May 16, 2022, the New York State Police, in conjunction with the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office, arrested Robert B. Ashe, 62, of Wynantskill NY for Official Misconduct.

Columbia County District Attorney Paul Czajka was appointed special prosecutor by Rensselaer County Court Judge Jennifer Sober.

The investigation revealed that Ashe, while serving as the Chief of Police of the Hoosick Falls Police Department, stole evidence and then created paperwork to coverup the theft.

On May 16, 2022, Ashe was convicted by plea of Official Misconduct in the Village of Hoosick Falls Court before Honorable Judge Thomas Restino Jr. NYS Public Officers Law provides that his conviction of this offense automatically results in his termination and removal from public office.
