State Police Investigate a deadly shooting incident in the Village of Baldwinsville

State Police is investigating a shooting incident that occurred at 2861 Cold Springs Road in the village of Baldwinsville.
On February 22, 2021, at approximately 12:01am Officers from the Baldwinsville Police Department responded to the residence for a reported shooting with injuries. The preliminary investigation has determined that a male and female who live in the second-floor apartment were in a physical altercation with a father and son who live on the first floor. During the altercation, the female was struck in the face with a shovel and both father and son were struck by gunfire.
The Baldwinsville Police Department has requested the New York State Police to conduct the investigation.
William R. Delany, age 44 was transported to Upstate University Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
A 27-year old male was also transported to Upstate university Hospital and was listed in serious condition.
A 36-year-old female who lives in the second-floor apartment was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital for facial injuries where she was treated and released.
William J. Kratz, age 44, who lives on the second floor, was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, a class “C” felony. Kratz is charged with possession of an illegal "ghost" handgun.
The investigation is continuing.
State Police were assisted at the scene by the Village of Baldwinsville Police Department and the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.
