Stolen vehicle located, suspect still at large

***UPDATE***

The vehicle in question was located last night with the assistance of the Madison County Sheriff's Office and the Oneida County Sheriff's Office at a residence in Durhamville New York.

We are still seeking information regarding the identity of the male depicted in the pictures.

The following is the original press release from the Utica Police Department's Facebook page:

At approximately 11:30AM on January 31, 2022 Utica Police Officers were dispatched to the area of York St and Court St regarding a menacing investigation involving a motorist pointing a firearm at another vehicle.

The suspect vehicle was followed to a convenience store in New Hartford where Utica Police Officers located the vehicle and male entering it. As the officers approached the vehicle, the male operator sped at them at a high rate of speed causing one of the officers to jump out of the way in order to not be struck head-on by the vehicle.

A vehicle pursuit was then undertaken leading into Vernon NY where ultimately it was terminated. The operator and the vehicle are still at large and we are asking the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle and/or identifying the individual depicted.

The vehicle is a 2020 blue Honda Accord with license plate HUX6702. It was reportedly stolen yesterday from an automotive repair shop where the owner had brought it for servicing. If anyone encounters the vehicle please contact your local authorities as the operator is considered armed.
