Three Injured in New Hartford Crash

From New Hartford PD:



Three people were injured in a three vehicle crash on Seneca Turnpike Tuesday afternoon. The accident occurred on State Route 5 at Homestead Rd.

At about 6:00 pm, New Hartford Police were called to an unknown motor vehicle accident on Seneca Turnpike. Upon arriving on scene, officers found three vehicles had been involved in the accident. Through investigation, a vehicle being driven west bound on State Route 5 by Micah Crewell , age 40, of Sauquoit struck the rear bumper of a vehicle being driven by Mohammed Abdelhak, age 21 of Rome, who was stopped in traffic waiting to make a left turn onto Homestead Rd. Abdelhak's vehicle was pushed into the east bound lane of travel causing an east bound vehicle being driven by Pamela Benjamin, age 58 of West Winfield, to collide with Abdelhak's vehicle resulting in his vehicle being over turned. Abdelhak and his passenger, Joseph Incorvaia age 22 of Ava, along with Benjamin, were all transported by Edwards ambulance St Elizabeth’s Hospital and treated for none life threatening injuries. Crewell was issued a ticket for Following too Closely . He will answer the charge in New Hartford Town Court next month. The New Hartford Police Department was assisted at the scene by the New Hartford Fire Department and Edwards Ambulance.
