Two men arrested during traffic stop, illegal weapons seized


Two men suspected of being involved in multiple shootings were arrested during a traffic stop Sunday morning.


32-year-old Sedrick Henderson, and the passenger of the vehicle, 50-year-old Erik Kearse were arrested, after the GIVE (Gun Involved Violence Elimination) Strike Team conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle which was believed to be involved in multiple shootings across the city.


During the stop, officers found a 9mm Beretta handgun and felony level narcotics.


Henderson was charged with:

-Criminal possession of a weapon seventh degree,

-Criminal possession of a weapon third degree,

-Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree,

-Criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, and

-Criminal possession of a firearm.


Kearse was charged with:

-Criminal possession of a weapon third degree,

-Criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, and

-Criminal possession of a firearm.
