A Utica man was injured in a motor vehicle accident Genesee St in New Hartford Sunday. The accident happened on Genesee St near Paris Rd. in the Village of New Hartford.
According to Officer Jeffrey Emerson on 10/4/2020 at 2:02 am the New Hartford Police were called to a personal injury motor vehicle accident on Genesee St in the village of New Hartford. Upon arriving on scene officers found one vehicle had been involved in the accident. After interviewing the operator of the vehicle and witnesses it was discovered that a gray Honda Civic being operated by Mohammed Al-Nassar, age 25, of Utica was traveling west on Genesee St when it left the roadway and struck a utility pole and a fire hydrant. Al-Nassar suffered multiple injuries and was transported to St. Elizabeth’s hospital by a Kunkle Ambulance. Investigation into the accident further revealed that the plates on Al-Nassar’s vehicle did not match the vehicle he was driving. Al-Nassar was issued multiple traffic tickets that he will appear in court on at a later date. New Hartford Police were assisted at the scene by members of the New Hartford Fire Department
