Utica Police issue press release on Brinkerhoff shooting, victim identified


Utica Police issued a press release, which reads as follows. "At approximately 10:30PM [June 17th] Utica Police units were dispatched to the 1200 block of Brinckerhoff Ave regarding a shots fired investigation with a party struck by gunfire.

The male victim was immediately rushed to St. Elizabeth Hospital where all life saving measures were undertaken, however shortly thereafter he tragically succumbed to his injuries.

His identity will not be released until all next of kin notifications have been made.

Utica Police officers will be on Brinckerhoff Ave processing the scene and conducting the investigation throughout the early morning hours.

The victim has since been identified as 25 year old Jamaal Jackson.
