Utica Traffic Stop Leads To Weapons And Drug Charges



Yesterday evening (July 18, 2019) police officers from the Utica Police Department's Tactical Unit arrested Boyd Williams (age 26, of Utica) for illegal possessing a loaded handgun and several drug charges. The incident took place during a traffic stop in West Utica.

Williams was charged with the following offenses:

  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree- felony

  • Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree- felonies (defaced firearm, previous convictions)

  • Resisting Arrest

  • Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd degree, and

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd, 4th and seventh degrees- Felonies and a Misdemeanor.

Williams was in possession of a loaded .380 handgun, heroin, cocaine and marijuana.
