National Grid says that during this heat wave, customers should conserve energy wherever and however possible.
The company is hoping that people will delay using their air conditioners, laundry equipment, and other appliances to ensure that there is enough energy for everyone. Doing laundry at 7pm rather than during the day (peak hours) is a way to conserve energy. Turning up your thermostat a few degrees is another tip offered by National Grid. Essentially, the company would like everyone to conserve however possible-for example: use all larger appliances during non-peak hours (3pm-7pm)- to ensure that throughout this current heatwave, they can provide energy to all its customers.
